What To Do With Loose Clothing After Weight Loss

Weight loss

Clothes not fitting anymore? That’s both fantastic and frustrating. Loose clothing is one of the best indicators of your progress! If the scales aren’t going down but your measurements are, it likely means you’ve lost fat and put on some muscle.

Having to spend money on new clothes can be annoying, but fear not! There are a couple of alternatives to purchasing a whole new wardrobe, especially if you're still on your weight loss journey.

Thrifting

Thrift stores tend to have a decent variety of clothes for all shapes and sizes, and they’re more affordable than buying clothing brand new. Have a look around and find garments that suit your taste and new waistline. You can also donate your clothes that no longer fit.

Belts

Belts are the ideal accessory because they allow you to add a touch of flair to your wardrobe while ensuring your pants will stay up! Belts work well for dresses and skirts too, you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion.

Temporary Fixes

If you’re not ready to let go of some of your garments just yet you could try temporary fixes to tighten them such as safety pins or fashion tape. Safety pins work well on dresses, skirts and t-shirts, especially if the fabric is thin. You can also purchase waist-tightening clips. They’re available on a range of online clothing sites. They come in different shapes and styles, so they can act like an accessory, practical and stylish!

Online Marketplaces

You can find some great bargains on sites like Depop and Facebook Marketplace. These kinds of sites give you the luxury of searching for exactly what you want. You can also list your own clothes to get some of your money back!

Tailoring

Consider taking some of your clothes to a tailor to have them altered to fit your new size. This is a cost-effective alternative to having to purchase new clothes. There are tailors out there who don’t charge a fortune, so have a look around and you should find one close to you with a relatively low price point.
