Breaking Bad Habits

Breaking Bad Habits

Don’t worry, this isn’t a lecture. We’ve all been guilty of letting a decision that’s been made once take up residence in our everyday lives.

Why is that so bad? Well, as we hit repeat, we go on autopilot. And that’s a trigger word for weight loss. When we set our minds to autopilot, we stop thinking about the food we eat and the calories that come with it.

So, let’s hit reset on these bad habits today.

  1. Do you shop while you’re hungry?
This my friend is a recipe for disaster.  Your tummy, not your budget will always win on this occasion.

Either shop after a meal or take the Lady Bar with you. A wise lady once said: A full tummy never makes a foolish decision.

  2. Are you taking the car to drive down the road?
Here’s a missed opportunity screeching to a halt.

If you want to speed up progress, then it’s exactly moments like these you want to embrace. Unplanned, small bouts of exercise can really add up to success on the scales.

  3. Are you a sucker for a side or a sauce?
It’s hard to turn your back on a gravy boat or a little pot of creamy aioli. But here’s the thing, the portion might look small, but the calorie count isn’t.

So, say yes once, (a treat every once in a while, is fine) but saying no on a more regular basis is good.

  4. Do you instantly quit after a bit of a blow-out?
Having a blow-out is a bit like falling off a horse: you’ve got to get back on again. Consistency is the key to weight loss, not ultimate perfection.

So, dust off your Lady Shaker, lace up your walking boots and get back on your weight loss journey. There’s a healthier version of you on the horizon.

  5. Stop scrolling before bedtime
We could drone on about the scientific studies that show the light from our mobile screens triggers the receptors in our brains to stay awake, but we won’t.

Getting a good night’s sleep is setting yourself up for a successful tomorrow.

So, there you have it. Here are some bad habits that are really worth breaking to speed up your weight loss progress.
